Yes, Muslims are loyal to Sharia, not to the Constitution, right? Remember the Christian polemicists of the beginning of the 20th century that said that Jews are loyal to Talmudic law or to the Kingdom of Jerusalem. I have to say this is paranoia, a fairy tale. In the real world and not the world of unicorns, Muslims do not want to change the secular law of their country; they are more than happy with it. But of course, some people like to leave in a fantasy world.

Understood, but that's hardly being persecuted, tortured, or murdered... that's what he would face under Sharia Law and in countries in which Sharia is the Law.

Well, he has a point: so long as gays are looking for marriage, and not equivalent in all but name civil unions (as prevail in much of Europe), Bawer can't come to America without leaving his civil partner behind.
