From the 1964 LP, "Connie Francis and Hank Williams, Jr. Sing Great Country Favorites." I created this video slideshow using photos and music from my personal collection. Connie was 26 at the time and Hank was 15 and on the verge of a big career that continues today. MGM records decided to pair the two because Connie was a huge star and they thought she could give Hank a boost. It was a great idea in theory, but unfortunately, the album didn't do very well - probably because 1964 was the year of the Beatles invasion and the British sound was all the rage, ushering in a whole new era of '60s rock and roll that 'negated' many of the top American stars. TRIVIA NOTE: The back-up vocalists at this recording session were The Jordanaires, famous for their work with Elvis Presley. Connie used them on many of her own albums and singles.

  • Excellent. Both Connie and Hank bring this song to life! And, thank-you 'AConnieChannel' for the great pictures.

  • @sas9023055 Hi there! Thanks so much for the nice comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. And thanks for your comments on the others you've watched! I appreciate it! And I am certain Connie does, too. Have you subscribed to the channel? Best wishes, Ken

  • Bonjour!

  • That's really great Ken. Looking at the pictures really shows how petite Connie was/is. My goodness. But the voice anything but!

  • great upload

  • @AConnieChannel - Hi Ken! We have swapped messages several times. Yes, I have belonged to your channel quite some time now. I have mentioned that I grew up listening to CF, as my grandmother played her records when I was child back in the late 50's/early 60's. I have my own channel for another special lady, Shirley Bassey. Both Connie and Shirley have sung many of the same songs over the years. Anyone taking a listen will also enjoy Dame Shirley Bassey as well very much!, Regards, Scot

  • This is the best after Leroy Van Dyke I`ve heard yet - Connie great singer.
