Except that the mother never consented for the 'guest' to be there. BTW, it's not a guest, it's a parasite. It's not physically separate from the mother and thus does not qualify as a distinct, independent entity.

I thought conservatism meant less government. I guess it really doesn't.

@daveperk A HEART that beats gives the proof that it lives. It's the difference between life and death. I don't see a dead person living without a heart , before my father died of ALS and it took all his organs his heart and lung were the last to be impact he status is dead because no heart was active wtf??? I understand pro choice but to fight that a heart isn't proof enough=lame. wether its human? yeah okay no that thing could potentially be a dog coming out of my va jay jay.

@TuringAI it's like a hotel, Al. THe mother runs it, and the baby is the guest. SHe's responsible for her guest's welfare and shouldn't do things like smoke and drink, because it harms the guest. And, like all hotel operators, she is not entitled to MURDER her guest because she's unhappy that he's there. It's an obligation, a responsibility, a duty. Not to herself but to the somebody else who's residing in her temporarily. THIS AIN"T ROCKET SCIENCE.

@hco323 the fact that a heart is beating does not indicate humanity, only a progression of biology. The issue of whether it's a HUMAN BEING is not biological at all. And I have always said that THIS is the issue, the ONLY issue, in the abortion debate. It's already illegal to kill a human being. So why is an unborn child not a human being? The benefit of the doubt goes to the child. Before KILLING it, one ought to KNOW it isn't human. so what is the proof?

Nobody agrees on what actually constitutes a person, somebody who not only has no contact with the outside world but who is physically dependent upon a specific connection to the body of another person has no rights generating features. The form of the body and mind in this case is subsumed by another individual whose body and mind are whole. Rights are for those whose body and mind are not subsumed by other individuals.

Or are they?
