I think Musa's attitude stems from how rocky her relationship has been with Riven. Ever since the first season and even in the movie, Riven and Musa have trouble meshing (or Riven is being controlled by the darkness). They both love each other, but neither one wants to cave in to the other. So all they can pretty much do is fight until they make-up and fight again.
