I saw the play, heard the music....then I saw this movie and was blown away....especially from Anne Hathaways performance. If you dont like musicals dont see it. I have to wonder if these guys like any movies.

A lot of things wrong with the film but Hugh Jackman fits the part of Valjean really well. He captured Valjean's humble yet heroic character very well and his vocal performance was good most of the time. I liked Anne Hathaway's performance too, her version of 'I dreamed a dream' wasn't as strong vocally as other versions but in my opinion it had heart

GUYS this film is not good. AND ANNE HATHAWAY IS GOD AWFUL IN IT. HER SINGING IS SHIT. plain as that. people look at this movie and think of the play. thats the only reason people like it

If you've ever read the book, you should hate this movie with a passion. They turned the characters into happy-go-lucky versions of themselves and absolutely destroyed the theme of darkness and foreboding with all the upbeat music. I have to harp on this: the music is the most inappropriate soundtrack I've ever heard. It's always, ALWAYS happy and out-of-touch with the plot, with the only song that actually matched the music being Eponine's song. It's the worst movie I've ever seen.
