@peacelaurenpeace739 remember this was on floor a bit softer than hardwood floor. This clip did not include her tumbling, but look at vera caslavska's tumbling from a few years later, and they would be similar.

@admetric no, produnova did a full twisting switch split leap into a split, while latynina did a full twisting straight jump landing in a split.I don't think that it was named after Produnova, but I may be wrong
-
The skill she performs at 7 secs was later named after Produnova, right?
-
hahahahaha u have to think wat bad gymnasts were doing at the time if this is the best in the world
-
i can do that right now and i quite gymnastics 2 years ago , actully i could do that when i was 9! gymnastics have surely changed thats for sure.
-
Yup, that's what it was in those days -- just a carpet laid on a hard cement floor. And only those with strong calves and a good take-off could hope to excel in this discipline.
-
wow its amazing to see how much gymnastics has changed...look how easy the tumbling looks to elite gymnasts today!
-
She's actually counsidered a Soviet Legend in the sport, Olga and Nadia just popularized it.
-
Damn, look at how hard that floor is! Did they just put carpet on top of cement or something?

For the same reason you can't make direct comparisons of Jesse Owens and Usain Bolt; you just have to accept that each was the best of his era.
