He is a POET!!! The music, although very good, was more of an afterthought, to widen his audience and give his poetry more accessability. I doubt he cared much about how his voice sounded. If you are fans of Carroll, you should READ 'Basketball Diaries' (especially if you've seen the movie.) This is Jim writing about Jim...
