to brownies4you: you're pretty good at dating old film clips. I can verify your theory that it is 1953 (or w/in one year either way) I am an old car enthusiast and I watched this very closely. Every car I saw in the background was definately prior to 1954 and most of them were well after 1949. yeah....as an avid car nut....i'd sya you hit it right on the nose or w/in one year

Judging from the grils' hairstyles and their skirts' long hemlines this looks like 1953. But whether it's 1953, '83, or '03, kids will be kids and backstabbing occurs. There will always be kids who become the scratching posts with which catty students sharpen their proverbial claws. But, in 1953, kids had a deeper respect towards authority figures. I'm saddened at how quickly today's kids break into vicious fist fights. It's no longer a guy thing. Girls have become cattier than ever.
