Cromwell was nothing but an usuper who never claimed royal titles. He claimed to act against a tyrant, modeling himself after the assassins of Julius Caesar, "saviour of republicanism" - yet he wanted only power. Just like after the assassination of Julius Caesar the Emperor claimed to be restorers of Rome's republican liberties, Cromwell was an Emperor in everything but title.

I hate all of this crap, where we argue about the differences between England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. I prefer to look at what we achieved together, namely creating the biggest empire the world has ever made. Not to mention the scientific, political and industrial innovations.
