In this video you'll learn why your fridge and/or freezer might not be cooling properly.
Remember, parts are specific to your model and the ones shown today may not be the right parts for you. To get the right part for your refrigerator, be sure to search http://www.partselect.com/ using your model number.
If you need help finding your model number, use our model number locator guide: http://www.partselect.com/model-number-locator+1+repair.htm.
Here are a few things you should check if your fridge and/or freezer aren't getting cool enough:
How do frost free fridges and freezers work? (0:45)
Is the problem with the internal air flow or with the cooling unit (evaporator)? (1:18)
Is the evaporator fan functioning? (1:26)
Is there little or no air is present but you can hear the fan running? (2:03)
Is there frost build up on the evaporator? (2:12)
A malfunctioning defrost system can also cause frost build-up and a temperatures rise (2:45)
Components of the defrost system (3:02)
If your symptoms aren't related to the parts above, you may have sealed system problems. The sealed system includes the compressor, evaporator, condenser and associated refrigerant tubing (4:12)
Now that you can identify what the problem could be and whether any parts will need to be replaced, go to http://www.PartSelect.com to order parts and find out more information about your specific repair.
