From Charles Kuralt's "CBS News Sunday Morning": A look back at the deaths of 1989, including Sir Laurence Olivier, Bette Davis, Lucille Ball, Kate Smith, Irving Berlin and more. Kuralt, famous for his CBS News "On the Road" segments, anchored "Sunday Morning" for 15 years and retired at age 60 in 1994. in '97, he anchored a CBS show called "I Remember" that was to have been a weekly series of past news events from the three previous decades. However, he died at age of almost 63 from lupus complications. Part 1 of 3.

It's nice of CBS to do a tribute. Lucy will be remembered by all!

Does the Sunday morning show on CBS do this now? These days, "tributes" are often a fast montage, or glib, smug, empty attempts at cuteness and shame at the idea of actually being sad someone is gone.
This is very well put together, especially the tribute to Irving Berlin.
I'd forgotten just how many passed in 1989.
