From Great Planes, the "Profile Fuselage" on this all foam plane reminds me of my old U-Control days back in 1964!

I was wondering around in the hobby store when I saw this plane for $20 with motor.
I decided to get it and build it.

Of course I also had to buy an Electrify C-35 speed controller for $39, foam safe super glue for $10.95, 3 servos, TX, and an 11.1 volt LiPo battery.

This raises the cost. But the fun factor? Well worth it!

This plane is sweet to fly, as you can see. I love it.

Thanks to Don Anderson at Great Planes and his crew for picking another fun plane.

It may not be the prettiest, but I've now put lights on it and fly it in the dark.

See my Other Video of it night flying.

These Flatouts were designed for RC Combat flying.

  • Yes. You'll need a motor and speed control too, unless you run it wide open all the time.

  • YOUR THE BEST i've learned so much as a newbie rc pilot from you. thanks

  • Thank you. That is kind of you to say. Don't give up and fly easy.

  • Hey Dave, you should add 'flatout' to the title, i've been looking for some videos of this plane and there was only one other, this one is waaayyy better, of course.

  • Ha ha.. Thanks. I will do what you suggest, as that is a good idea.

  • Thanks very kindly. Remember, I had to buy a battery, servos and radio, so it still comes up to way more than $20.
