When I was a kid watching all these B/W movies from the 30's and 40's, I couldn't stand that woman with the greying hair and deep voice - Barbara Stanwyck.
Now I collect her films on DVD and admire her sense of humour and talent in every one of them. The Lady Eve with Henry Fonda is a gem, and shows Stanwyck at her best. The best film noir of them all is a Stanwyck picture Double Indemnity, Executive Suite, Titanic. For me, Miss Stanwyck is Number 1.

She wasn't at all in my list when i started watching the classics back in the 70s. Strange how one can change. She's tops now in my list!!! I even collect her movies!
