@acidtones1 its because he was recovering from a broken finger

@texasblues46 Page was recovering from a broken finger then, you know.

yeah I got that man, in 75' they used to play whole lotta love and transition from the theremin solo into Black Dog and use Out on the Tiles as the intro. Even in the intro to Out on the Tiles he messes up a bit. and then on when he goes to 3/4 time and back to 4/4 on the first verse. Just saying ... Still though Page is and will probably always be my no.1 guitar idol.

You do realize that the recording is screwed up going from Part 13 of this concert to this one (part 14). It wasn't Page, but the recording. I still wish his Les Paul was more distorted tone wise..

As a huge Page fan I can say that he was most definitely having an off night that concert. I heard quite the screw ups in just the first minute of this song.
It rocks regardless! Led Zep forever!

Was this in Syracuse, NY?

I gotta agree with Texasblues........page definatly does not seem to be up to par with his usual ability. you can hear how sloppy he is. Tempo is off, missed notes etc etc.
Plant seems hit or miss depending on verse.

I was fortunate enough to have witnessed Zeppelin at The New York State Fair Grounds in 1969 and it remains the greatest rock performance I've ever seen. Zep's shows between '69 and '71 in particular were just unbelievable. Nobody's ever approached what Zeppelin did in this period of their career. I've seen all the great bands of rock, and as incredible as a few of them were, Led Zeppelin at their peak were just in a class by themselves. Still are.
