This clip shows an extended episode of wolf dominance behavior between a couple of Mexican wolves. Sorry for the poor sound quality--the mic was clearly malfunctioning, so there is a high-pitched whine throughout. You'll probably want to shut it off. I kept the sound on to show how--even though it LOOKS like this should be full of roars and growls--except for the occasional whine from the subordinate wolf--the encounter is on the quiet side.
This was shot in the early 1980s (yeah, I know, probably before some of you were even born!) using a honkin' giant camera and 3/4" tape at the Wild Canid Survival and Research Center located just outside St. Louis, MO. It has since changed its name to the Endangered Wolf Center; you can see what they're up to (and, hint hint, donate!) at http://www.endangeredwolfcenter.org.
If he was the "dominant" wolf he would at least let the subordinate show his submissive.
If I was the wolf being thrown on the ground, I'd grab him by the neck, shove him to the ground and whip his head into the fence repeatedly and choke him to death. :I
-Plans on being the dominant.- ;D
