Lexus ES300 Cluster LED mod "The Laser"

This is a modified 1992 Lexus ES300 cluster fitted with 51 LEDs for maximum light output and longer life than traditional bulbs. This cluster is called the Laser. These are custom made by me personally. The needles are crystal clear plastic shafts with a black base. They have a 3D effect. there are two layers of illumination, the top and bottom. you cannot see the details here in this video. i have taken apart a LS cluster and currently have 6 LS needles in my room and they are all CCFL.

the LS 400 had Electroluminescent Gauges right from 1989...the rest of the Lexus Lineup didn't get EL Gauges til much later.

Go to Lexus owners club and look for Lexucan's post on how to do this. It's fairly easy and cheap.

These are not lexucan's needles. Lexucan does have a DIY option for those who are good with electronics. I have seen his work. Anyone interested check it out. There is a very big difference from my cluster and lexucan. My cluster does not use any needles from the 92-96 Lexus ES300. These are moded needles i customed myself. Very rare mod i did. I call this one "the Laser"

@eyeoninfinity as far i know the early LS 400 Cluster was all EL....the newer ones probably switched to LED.

Dude. I can now recall how bad ass it felt to drive with lights like that in my LS400. In regards to Body Design, Drawing, Interior Design, Lighting and adding computer electronics, Lexus was ahead of its time.
