Since MovieMaker won't accept .mov files, I settled for a "slideshow" presentation. These shots were stills from a digital camera movie, so quality is not as sharp as it could be (vectors look thicker than they really are). (Yes, I know, emulators have better shots, but then I'll eventually redo this once I get a camera anyway.)

Anyway, seeing there's not many videos for Vectrex homebrews (at the time I did this), I thought I would do one myself of all the 'brew cartridges I have thus far: Spike Hoppin', Vector 21, Y. A. S. I./Protector, Vecmania, and Moon Lander. (Note: vectrexcarts is now a part of classicgamecreations.com)

And, check out my all Vectrex wiki!

I also have a vector gaming forum too as well: http://vectorgaming.proboards.com/index.cgi

  • i own one of them. 1:23. nice video!

  • Thanks, still need to redo this one, but no video camera yet. Along with making others, as I've gotten many more games since!

  • Dondzilla did some really good games for the vectrex. My personal favorite is the targ clone, one of the best games for the vectrex. The name won't come to me though. I am pretty sure I have all of his games. Protector and YASI are great too, protector is probably the best done (but not necessarily the best game) on the vectrex, blows away the commercial stuff from the 80's.

  • Good point with your last sentence :)

Yeah, I liked Trakkers a lot too. Dondzila's done a lot for the old girl, that's for sure!

  • Nice to hear! Let us know when it's done!

  • It is for the Vectrex.

  • Hopefully for the Vectrex :)

  • Nice, Im working on a side scrolling platform with mario style gameplay elements.

  • Heh, yeah, there's the 'Vectris' homebrew on the All Good Things compilation, it came out in like '96 or something. I just didn't have it at the time I made this slideshow. I'll have it on my next one though!

  • What no Tetris? Even Intellivision had a Home Brew Tetris Clone so if that system had a Tetris when is Vectrex going to have a Tetris?
