Lionel O Scale Layout Update # 4 04-02-2011

Since my last update video, I have been busy with adding more scenery and landscaping; particularly the rock wall between the two main levels and the hill around the grain elevator. I have also added a Lionel Canadian Pacific SD90 to my engine roster.

Unfourunately my SD40 has an electrical problem. It is a TMCC engine and responds all digital commands except when the throttle is turned the engine accelerates at full speed. I think the problem is with the DCDS board. Has anyone else had this problem? If you have let me know how you repaired it.

One month later... I'm back. You have a great layout, and I would like to replicate it (with some tweaks of my own). Is there a track plan you followed? Would you happen to know where I could find this? Thanks!

@Trainz35 I created this layout from scratch. If you send me your email address, I can send you a sketch of the layout. The lower level is a simple oval. The upper level mainline is a stretched out figure 8 with a passing siding and a ladder siding off the passing siding. The two levels are not connected. I look forward to see how you replicate this layout. BTW, I recommend using engines with odyssey speed control to climb the steep grades on the over-under.

@davypettit Thanks for the quick response. I see what you mean, and I've already got a couple modifications to it (extended yard off to the side, turntable and engine facilities). Once I actually do something, I'll be sure to post a video.
