Burma, one of the poorest countries in Asia, has the twelfth largest army in the world - with nearly half a million soldiers. Not all of these are men. Many are children as young as 10, forcibly conscripted, bought and sold by brokers to army recruiters for profit, to fight the regimes genocidal wars against ethnic minorities.

This video was captured in Bangkok from the Democratic Voice of Burma broadcast to Asia on Nov. 6, 2007. (http://english.dvb.no/)

  • There r some good reasons for using child soldier. When they r grow.they will be professional in fighting.

  • @babymilo666 Sorry baby, that is sick. Very very sick.

  • it's Myanmar, not Burma

  • "Myanmar" is preferred by those who accept the legitimacy of the evil, murdering Than Shwe regime. Congratulations.

When the Burmese people are able to give their assent to a name change, then I'll follow their decision - not the dictator's.

  • @agam4

sorry it's like a 2 year late reply.

but why then would the UN use it?

  • @ppoppoppoman UN recognizes every member state as legitimate representatives of their people, crazy as it sounds. Consent of the governed has little importance for that body. Many democratic governments haven't recognized the junta's silly autocratic name changes, but a few have. The UN of course is not very democratic. In Thailand for example, the name for Burma sounds like "P'ma", same as it's been for hundreds of years. Burma was it's own chosen name at independence, when it was a democracy.

  • I don't believe. this video is not true. how can i believe? you can get this uniform everywhere.

  • @tiny1treasures i strongly agreed with the part that you said, north east of the country is one of the worst as the burma army murdering the karen people.and it is very sad.. but i don't think that myanmar or burmese people are some of the nicest and most generous people i will or who ever will meet..

  • @babymilo666 probably the stupidest comment i ever read

  • @fe7s Then why the fuck are you watching Burmese video?!! Despite the fact that you agree with all the movement's going on in Burma or not, what you said the least thing Burmese people will want to hear.

  • @agam4

I agree with that guy. Look at the little kids in Naruto. They are now dangeorus.

  • @agam4 Spartan's way of life... Lol i'm just sayin'. It's a way of life but a very old one.

  • @babymilo666 , you don't even know what you are talking about. There is no good reason for using child soldier. They don't get to choose what they want to become in their life. Think carefully!! grow up!
