Is it me or has anyone else noticed that all Alla Rakha does is Dha and TirKit in all his compositions, no Dhere Dhere etc.

@SuperFlashman123 Well, I wouldn't say those are the only bols Ustadji used in his compositions. I can name a few that use a variety of different bols. You may notice that a lot of older Ustads (i.e Ustad Miyan Qader Baksh, Ustad Allah Rakha, Ustad Miyan Shaukat Hussain Khan etc), especially if they are from Punjab Gharana, as you may have noticed from the names that I have listed, would not compose many compositions with Dhere Dhere as it is not an orthodox bol nor from Punjab repertoire.

Interesting, but I have heard that Alla Rakha cant even play Dhere Dhere and when questioned on it he replied that it was too hard so he dropped learning it. That does not make him an Ustad in my eyes. I am quite confident that you will not be able to listen to a recording of Alla Rakha playing Dhere Dhere...as he cant play it. Zakir had to learn Dhere Dhere from others as his dad couldnt play it. In my eyes Alla Rakha is a fake Ustad.

@SuperFlashman123 I am very curious to know where you got that information from. I do not recall any sort of interview or article saying Allah Rakha Ji said Dhere Dhere was too difficult. I am not doubting you for the simple reason that I do not know, but I didn't think that he could not play this bol.

It is all down to composition. KumarTabla has also pointed this out.

Have you listend to this upload? I dont think so. as this would show you the great Ustad Allah Rakhaji can play far more difficult and challenging bols (not even counting kayda's) than Dhere Dhere. You are a troll

Great point to raise about Dhere Dhere missing from the repertoire! But surely, if you are student of Tabla, you know to absorb good points from everyone. Fake Ustad or not, there is something to learn from his Dha and TirKit too!

@SuperFlashman123 In early Tradition, Tabla players stuck to their own style (gharana) of playing n competed w the others. He may not play that particular common style of drdr, but he does have some compositions which include drdr and he played trkt like no one else (besides Zakir)!! Also his Mathematics was untouchable!!!

@SuperFlashman123 If you're so concerned abt your teacher's credibility then you shouldn't be voicing reported speech in the first place. You seem to be unearthing an openly known fact. In any case, ur problem is that he's already been an Ustad several times over, has given the world the most brilliant legacy in the form of Zakir and is six feet under so you can't do dick for defaming him. There is an old saying that goes - The moon does not care if the dog barks at it. I hope you got the point.

@SuperFlashman123 I believe he wasn't too fond of dhir dhir but composed mostly using them but played dhit dhit for dhir dhir and dhatarikita for dhirdhirkita. Yes he is very much a fake ustad. He is one of those individuals who don't deserve to be called an ustad because he is several leagues beyond the title and any external validation. Why, he did not even get the so-called coveted civilian awards Padma XXX in due course and he would have probably asked them to shove them in any case.

I got my information from my teacher who I will not name as it may affect his credibility if its not true. I am open to the fact that it may not be true but then I started taking note. With duets with Zakir they would play the same Bols but where Zakir would play Dhere Dhere,Alla Rakha would simply play TirKit in.The signs lead to it being true as I just cant find any indication of him playing Dhere Dhere and I believe it to be very significant when people give him the title Ustad.
