The early history of Kars is little known, beyond the fact that it had its own dynasty of Armenian rulers and was the capital of a region known as Vanand. At some point in the 9th century (at least by 888) it became part of the territory of the Armenian Bagratids. For a short time (from 928 to 961) Kars became the capital of their kingdom. It was during this period that the Cathedral, later known as the Church of the Apostles, was built.

@SrbijaZaMene .Armenian people also lost too many lands, which I've visited this summer, I had been in this cathedral too, and my eyes saw how muslim people pray by their way to God, and all of them were amazed when they saw me alone praying there as a Christian... So I think the truth is more powerfull than any politics, whish all dreams of your's and mine will become true.

Noone believe that this is a turkish mosque.The world know the trooth about the Genocide Turks and Kurds comitted aganist Armenians,Greeks and Assyrians.Believe me, every part of the world know about what happened to Armenians.I'm just so sorry that the world doesn't know what happened to my people Serbia.In WW1, occupy forces killed 1/3 of population.And in WW2 700 000 Serbs have been slaughtered in Jasenovac, so called "Serbian Aushwitz".I hope the world will know that soon.

The symmetry is so perfect. I was there in June and it still stands, proud and stubborn and beautiful. I went to Ani and it is so beautiful. Every Armenian needs to go and see for themselves and have their hearts broken again....and again.

I have already put the photo of the Kars Cathedral in Google Earth,and I have written,that this is an Armenian church of The Holy Apostoles,not a turkish mosque. We all should speak about it abroad,or in internet,to have this problem be solved.I hope it would be!
