Slides & Bottlenecks - difference in tone?!

Always meant to make a video that compares a bunch of slides and bottlenecks!! Here it is, made just for the fun of it... These slides do look and feel different but there's not THAT much difference in tone, I think that any tone difference is in the mind and hands of who ever's playing!! Hehe, got steel, brass, bronze, glass and even a really cool and new thing calledTribotone, made out of stainless steel and some kind of engineering plastics!! The future is here, haha!! Strings here is the Republic standard 0.13 - 0.56 Ph.Bronze..

Indeed as you say not much noticeable difference at least on a resonator guitar, maybe the sustain might be more pronounce on an electric guitar ???????

Not much difference no..

Made this clip because I just wanted to show how the difference is more in how you play than what you play with, hehe! However, there's a slight, almost not distinguishable, difference in tone and sustain between the materials.

Jag brukar köra med originalhöjden, ibland har jag höjt action lite, aldrig sänkt, det funkar inte med mitt anslag, hehe.. Intonering är inte en reso-gura's bästa egenskap! :-)

@BottleneckJohn Jag hamrar som det gällde livet på mandolin och ukulele, men ser att sliden kommer användas till fingerpicking och där är jag löjligt mesig med anslaget. Det får nog bli en sådan där liten flaska. En tung tub får mig dessutom att knipa om halsen alldeles för hårt för de veka strängar min gitarr pallar..

@BottleneckJohn Tack! Ja, jag kör nog också nickel, men kanske att jag kör snäppet tunnare - typ 013. Som den är nu funkar den perfekt att slida på men när jag tar lite "keithackord" på den upplever jag att den intonerar lite taskigt. Kanske väl högt strängläge? Brukar du sänka det på dina republic? Det kan ju vara strängarnas fel också, det är fortfarande originalsträngarna och de känns lite dassiga...
