There is bubbles when you pull on a suction cup underwater... what is it? is it air? is it just a vacuum?

  • You are strong enough to pull the suction cup away from the glass since it is only being held there by the pressure of the atmosphere (about 15psi) and a few inches of water (since it is under water) and the space you create is at low pressure, but not vacuum since it is filled with water vapor and trace of gases that were dissolved in the water.
