as other films about drugs/ the father knows she's strung out but still he can't accept this, still he has to go looking for the drugs.. like real life it's so hard to accept for a parent that their child {espcially of this social standing} could be involved in such things, this movie opens peoples eyes to drugs and who it effects EVERYONE
-
it's the way the director/writer see's the difference between drugs/and the use of drugs so well in this scene, the way in which most other movies doesen't. but at the same time still with the verbal anger.. perfection akin to real life in such a situation but of course other parts of the film showing the drug trade more akin to real life {if what somewhat diluted}, the movie was intended to show different sides to the drug trade and thats what it does. political/use and not so much violence
-
there's many great scenes in many movies, this is for sure one of them, not only for the performence of both actor/acrtress, but also how in real life similar instances occur, parents looking for drugs {whatever substance that may be} the scene is played out so brilliantly, someone without a knowledge of drugs may include violence in this scene, when in reality somebody that's really just taken a hit has no intention of violence/nor does the parent, this is why this movies is so great/directed

The fact that this scene does echo so may typical parent-teenager interactions is what makes this story arch in the movie so powerful and disturbing. With the wrong brain chemicals, those little spats would be steps on the highway to addiction, homelessness, and prostitution.

Erika's character in this movie was such a piece of shit junkie. Her father should've disowned her for good.

@DougglesMagnificent In the beginning of the film Topher Grace shows her how to make freebase and they smoke it together off tinfoil. She even says, "Is this like freebasing", and he says, "Not like...it IS." SHe SHOOTS heroin LATER in the movie. Jesus WATCH the friggin film.
-
@DougglesMagnificent DUDE, she is smoking FREEBASE. Have you ever actually WATCHED this movie??? Earlier in the movie, it SHOWS Topher Grace showing her how to make freebase and they smoke it together, off tinfoil. WATCH THE WHOLE MOVIE.

It's not meth, she's freebasing cocaine. Basically mix coke with baking soda and water, heat it up and it forms crack. I like to do it when I have the extra money, between prostituting and trafficking immigrants. Good times.
