Thanks so much for this WONDERFUL tutorial! I finally know how to do the corners now and how to finish the binding! I made a tree skirt for the Christmas tree this year and it wouldn't have turned out so well without this video :)

I'm sorry Leah...I have to comment ONE more time how EXCELLENT this video is! Last quilt I used the binding tool and got a pucker! :( THIS time, I just added binding to my Hidden Stars quilt & this method works like a charm! Perfect size, perfect fit! Easy! THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for this Leah, you're videos have been very helpful to me since I started quilting. I'm a 57 year old man who has found a very enjoyable past time.

This is the best video on machine quilt binding - I've followed along w/ you on my last 3 quilts (which are also my 1st 3) and your method works like a charm!
Thank you for taking the time!

Wow I love ur method! I have been looking for a better way to machine bind my quilts. My hands go numb so I'm unable to do the hand sewing thing. I checked out ur other posts and love your much younger approach to quilting!! Any ideas for free motion quilting large quilt such as a log cabin?

@cmgriffin1 That's the way I do it... I will measure the width of my binding... and sew on the diagonal. She iterates that you should TEST your pinned perpindicular binding.. haha.. ASK ME HOW I KNOW.. lol (it's a 50/50 chance I get it right the 1st time..
I am relatively new to quilting and have watched LOTS of YouTube videos and have successfully done the pocket to join the ends of the binding several times and wonder why anyone would NOT. I am curious, and I totally understand that people have their own preferences and opinions. Is there a reason that you don't use a pocket? The way that you do it in this video seems so confusing and easily prone to mistakes (AKA I am prone to mistakes and tend to go for simplicity every time :)

@ijkwhitlock - I have no idea what a pocket is in terms of binding. I've never heard that term or seen it demonstrated, so why not make a video to share your method?
P.S - There's room for ALL techniques in this world because one method simply cannot work for everyone.

Do you HAVE to use a walking foot cause I don't have one, can't a just use a quarter inch foot?

If your quilting is very dense and close together, no, you don't have to use a walking foot to attach your binding.
But if your quilt is quilted normally with minimal stitching, you really should use a walking foot to make sure the quilt and the binding stays even.
