"Hey gang, jump in the Toyota ; let the fun begin!" Ah, we can almost hear those words already! We're Autistic Services, a small not-for-profit in Western New York that supports children and adults on the Autism Spectrum. We love them and are dedicated to getting them out into the community as much as possible. This amazing population of people are artists, musicians, writers and mathematicians who have so much to offer. The problem is, to get out into the community, we need a vehicle! There have been many times that we hear our staff members crying out "I need a van" or worse, "All the vehicles have been signed out." We can't show the world how amazing people with Autism are unless we can get out into the world and show them. A Toyota would be the difference between us going out into this great big community or having to stay inside hidden away. We could travel to exhibit our artwork, perform our music in area schools and help to grow flowers or veggies on the farm. A Toyota could make all the difference; it could make our folks more accepted and even respected because they are out there with the typical population- living out loud.
