@royal1ist he has to have an Italian ancestor somewhere, otherwise AC Milan would push for him to get Portugese nationality instead. Yes he is Braziliian, but holds both Brazillian and EU passports like many other Europe-based players like Savio, Ronaldinho, Lucio (German passport), Gilberto Silva etc. it's a must unless they're established in the Brazil team, otherwise they'd get no permission to play.
