In The Night [Original 1985 version] - Pet Shop Boys

This is the original version of 'In The Night' by Pet Shop Boys which is taken from the B-side of the 1985 release of 'Opportunities' (which was the Pet Shop Boys first release on signing with Parolophone Records). It has a darker, fatter sound I think, compared to the re-worked version which was on 'Disco'. Both are very good though.

This was my favourite song when I was 9, and after 10 years hearing it again makes me feel happy. But now with an adult's thinking, and a decent english knowledge, I finally understood the lyrics, which makes me wonder, how could I listen to this music back than.

@quaxk I'm not either a musician nor a gay guy. But I really think that for perception like yours [New Wave Gays], that consider gay all the new wave music is that PSB an other fantastic music bands or duos are underrated in some parts of the world. At the very beginning of the PSB, no one could certainly tell that Neil was gay, until he openly admitted it.

Far too good for a b-side. Very great track! (I once heard that when they recorded this in the studio, the studio-people thought, that this would be the a-side and not opportunities... okay, "Opportunities" is also a great one, but "In the night" really hits the score!)
