I like Dr. Oz because he doesn't promote shit like Advil and Tylenol, and all those pills pharmaceutical companies want you to get harmful side effects.

@geo238c "Hey, if they out from the appointment with a bag of supplements and herbs"
My grandparents already love their supplements, no persuading them out of it. The only hope I have, which also gives me somewhat more to worry though, is that the nurse who seems to directly answer to the GP had no interest in hearing about what supplements they were taking, which I interpret as them not seeing is as medicine. Sadly, they also wouldn't know if there was a double dose when prescribing medicine.

Its funny that you made a video on this. I was waiting for someone to talk about this. I really like Doctor Oz I cant help it, he seems like a pretty nice guy. When ever he first hit the scene he was really impressive and now all of the sudden he has become a nut job. From homeopathy to L-arginine capsules, he recommends stuff that has been proven ineffective. Its insane man.

@Arizona4Christ
Arizona, thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. Yep, it's hard to figure out who to trust. Sadly, real medicine, if you will, is being bombarded with this mess. Yep, it's even being "taught" in medical schools.
Regards,
George

My grandparents are currently going to a GP who they like, and who seems nice enough, but almost every time I go in with them Dr. Oz is on the television in the waiting room, but it might be just one of the nurses, as she's the only one who seems to pay attention. He definitely has a New-Agey perspective, but I didn't see anything overly pseudo-scientific. I'm still wary of the doctor, especially since up to now I'd for some reason seen him as the mostly harmless brand of quack.

@Cyrathil Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Are you able to go "in with them" during the visit? Let's hope the nurse is the one tuning to Oz which I think is most likely the case. Of course, you could also say to the doctor, Gosh, you know Oz believes in a lot of that CAM stuff, what do you think? Hey, if they out from the appointment with a bag of supplements and herbs..you know there's a problem. Best to you and your grandparents. Regards, George

Oprah has promoted quite a few jackasses who are dangerous. I'm sure this Dr. Oz does good work in some areas, but this doesn't make him in expert in all areas.... and of course it's quite possible that he's wrong in many areas, spreading misinformation that could harm people.

@tattooskin72 Hi Michael, Of course as I've said many times: I have no medical training or science. However, when you believe your wife can heal people with them being many miles away.....well...hmmmm. Yep, that's Reiki distant healing....and Oz's wife is a yes, Reiki Master. As an aside, you might find some humor...my vet and I were discussing acupucture for animals and he said, If they come at me with a needle it better have medicine in it. Regards, George
