This video shows how to use GH Drum Midi Filter to avoid double hit problems while playing Guitar Hero World Tour with a Midi E-Drum.

You can download this software at :

With this new element in the controller chain, a few milliseconds of latency may appear. So you've got to increase the audio delay from 10-20ms in the game options menu.

Feel free to give some feedback, I'll do my best to improve this soft if necessary.

  • Will this work if i use USB MIDI INTERFACE where a usb go into the pc and on that interface there is a midi input and output?

  • For sure ! many midi interfaces are "usb-plugged", sometimes they are also embedded in audio external interfaces.

  • the keyboard output does not work in the new version. it works in notepad but not in gh:wt.

    can you fix this?

  • Yes I know about this, i've tried to fix this but there's no direct solution. In order this to work I should create a fake keyboard driver that emulates the presence of a real keyboard. But it's a bit difficult and actually I don't have so much time to try this.

  • @TheRockinQ Ive got a TD6. Had a look at the TD3 manual. It seems its the one option you dont have for creating/editing your own kit. Its a shame, because "gate time" allows the OffNote to be sent up to 8 secs after the on, which reduces the amount of OffNotes the software has to remove.

The only option for you now would be to find some software like Cubase and use it to filter those notes with it.

Or get another console, like I'm now considering.

  • @TheBillerator What Roland drum kit do you have? I have a TD3, but the manual doesn't say anything about "gate time".

  • @TheBillerator Hope this helps others, because before today I was pulling my hair out.

Seems there is nobody out there that has posted a sloution to this on the net.

  • @TheRockinQ I had one of those eureka moments today and realised how to work round it.

I have a Roland kit, which allows me to change the "gate time" for each pad, I've set it to the max of 8 secs. Now I used the program as well and my testing showed no more extra notes.

Seems to me that the software cant keep up with too many notes at the same time and lets a OffNote get thru. You will see on the program that sometimes a pad stays highlighted, thats it screwing up.

  • @TheBillerator Yeah, that's exactly my problem, it mostly happens when I hit 2 pads at the same time. What can I do about it?

  • @LiveForTheDrums You have to remap the MIDI number to either 28 or 45

  • @TheRockinQ Yeah same here. It seems to be when Im hitting 2 pads at he same time, it adds an extra hit or two. Not sure if this is because of a slow processor or USB port. I know its the computer adding the hit, because the midi cable LED flashes with each note out.

  • Help: i am using my electronic drum set to play guitar hero: world tour. i have the MIDI cable hooked up and everything is working.. except my "green". the green pad on the actual guitar hero set works, but it doesn't go through on my electronix drum set. help!
