if you have the copy of the movie The prince of tides and Nuts please post i love to watch that movies of babs but cannot find it in youtube the full movie was remove
@johnmcmarlin I agree that the sequel was a sorry dissappointment (though "Funny Girl" is flawed as a film, too) but you're missing a point: this song is reproducing what would have taken place back then when blacks were (usually) only allocated supportive roles to white performers. And with that stunning voice, who cares if she can't quite manage real gospel....??
Probably the worst number in a series of bad ones from this sad disappointment of a sequel to "Funny Girl". Barbra as the great white Goddess, standing nearly stationary as the Black dancers salam before her, is an embarrassment. What the hell was she thinking?
Love Barbra, I even like this number (mostly due to nostalgia- from my childhood love la Babs). No I do not think she can sing gospel! Adding black, gospel voices to the background does not good gospel make. She does hold her own vocally though (no doubt about that). Dont want to get into the many debates on YouTube about music & artists, this is just my opinion (from a fellow vocalist- who also doesnt do gospel very well... and I'm black!).
@johnmcmarlin I think her incomparable voice suffices.
