  • so they say 250k for single , 500k for humbucker. But If I tap the humbucker then I have a sigle coil with 500k pot............is there such a thing as a dual or variable pot?

  • Are there any issues or sound changing on the pickups using the decoupled way of wiring? I mean, db loss from pickups, poor sounding...

    Thanx

  • amazing video thanx a lot, I understood a lot of things. But I have a question. If I have a pus/pull potentiometer of 500 kΩ and I want to split a humbugger pick up to two single coil, how can I find the balance with the potentiometer? Because if I understood with the humbugger I need 500kΩ and for the single coil 250kΩ. Thanx a lot

  • Great explanation. Do you have more of these kind of videos?

  • This was so awesomely good!! So much info, very good reference when head gets full :) I had no idea the pots could vary that much. That must be one of the reasons why the same guitar model from a manufacturer can sound different from another. Thanks for the video!!

  • if tone pots are linear can you put a volume pot in its place to have a more even response?

  • i need some help! my pickup switch for my ESP ec 50 broke i ordered a replacement..its a les paul tye guitar..2 humbuckers 3 way toggle switch..im just a lil coonfised.the old broken switch is like the one mentioned here in the video but ive got an import box type toggle with 3 prongs and a ggroun and the cavity in my guitar has 3 wires coming out red, black and green..i need help on wiring it to the 3 prong toggle switch and how do i ground it?

  • can any humbucker pickup be used on series/paralel fashion to use them with a coil tapping potenciometer for a humbucker/single coil sound?. more specific I have a epiphone sg custom (3 humbucker) and I want to swap pickups for gibsons, 57 classic on the neck, 57 classic plus on the middle and angus young on the bridge but using coil tapping potenciometers to get the single coil/humbucker change. is that posible?
