I have always felt deeply connected to the person before I could have sex with them as a man and i definitely don't see that changing when I trans. Sexual orientation is different for everyone. I have noticed in today's culture that no one talks about auto sexuality. I'll bet that there are many people who have no need for an intimate relationship with some one else. I imagine that for some people self stimulation is enough to satisfy carnal needs. I read something to that effect in Helen Boyd's book, "She's not the man I married". I would think that this is the case with post SRS transwomen to rediscover orgasm.

One of the things I appreciate most from the Trans community is that many (though not ALL) of the TG/TS folks out there are very genuine people. If people ask any of us what is going on in our lives, generally (that is, if we're in the mood to tell the story for the umpteenth time) we're very, almost brutally honest. think that when you fumbled on the sex for sex issue , you might have meant that there needs to be an understanding of your interest and the desire to build on passions and not just of lust .

When you have been single for ever, as I have been, you become suspicious when anybody shows you even a passing interest. This is a normal reaction, regardless of whether you are trans or not. Be careful that you don't drive a potenyial partner away by being oner-cautious, not everybody has an ulterior motive even though that is what we believe.

Completely understand; I'm not into one night stands or sex for sex's sake. I may lust after women from time to time, but if I don't feel a connection with them, ultimately it doesn't go anywhere.

People think transpeople are nothing but "freaks" or a "bed post notch" which puts extra guards or awareness in place for trans people.

So as you try to find your kindred spirit you also have the extra trouble of weeding out "those" kind of people.

I think if you increase your interviewing skills you can limit how much hurt you expose yourself too.
