Columns Game Sample - Sega Master System

An uber adaptation of Columns for the Sega Master System. I think it's better than most Columns games. Match the gems (or object of your choice) horizontally, vertically or diagonally to make 'em disappear. Set 'em up good and pull off a series of chains. You have two main modes: Original and Flash. Original lets you play till you lose and Flash lets you win when you eliminate the flashing object on the screen. You can also play these modes in two-player mode where you alternate turns on the same screen which makes for an interesting time (you can blame your friend if he misses a good opportunity instead of yourself, lol). Then you have Versus, which has the same two modes but you're competitive this time. Doing chains raises your opponents stack and lowers your own. Enjoy.

The gameplay in Flash mode is similar to Sega's 1989 Tetris variant, Flash Point (in which you clear a flashing area to advance to the next stage).

Interestingly, the music played in Flash Columns came from Sega's 1988 arcade version of Tetris.
