@valleygurl120 - you are strong enough. every woman is. it really, really is not the worst thing ever. especially if you are at home in a peaceful environment. plus, pain meds can affect the baby and they also up your risk of a c-section by a lot. here is a great article on it:

On the twin mattress that I birthed my daughter on, my husband took a marker, made a big "X" on the spot where she was born and wrote "EVZ was born here, Jan 1, 2009, 7 lbs 7 oz". It's so special to me and a great memory! When she's old enought that'll be her bed in her room.

@butagaris Wow, it's ignorant comments like this that make me SO thankful to live in a place where I have the freedom to educate myself and birth my baby in the place of my choosing.
