Octane, I use the component cables you recommended me for my Wii a while back, and while my Wii looks much better on my TV (thanks), it hasn't changed in recording quality. I have it set to record from the component cables but it won't record in widescreen or good quality, although it displays with excellent quality and widescreen on my TV. Do you know how to fix this?

@TheSyrupCompany What recording device and editing program do you use?

@octaneblue I use a Hauppauge HD PVR and the recording software is EyeTV. The thing I forgot to mention is it did record properly the very first time I used the new component cables. Since then it has recorded as if I was using composite.

@TheSyrupCompany I'm not familiar with EyeTV; I use Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD. It could likely be an issue with the settings on that program, though. You might want to mess with the settings, maybe? Also, look up settings tutorials for the Hauppauge on YouTube; there are some good ones that maximize video quality while also maintaining a digestible file size.
