  • Oh, cmon, if you were born tween1956 & 1966, give a hoot, we all dug the MKees, they are all accomplished musicians, let them play, i have seen their genius since 1966, Fuck you, if you don't love America's answer to the Beatles, then KMA-10-4 John Lennon & Paul McCartney said so, They partied with these dudes, so it's ok. Just see the boxed set, then you'll see for yourself-JW

  • Wether The Monkees played all their own instruments or not the fact is their songs can stand proud against anything The Beatles produced. To me 'Last Train to Clarksville' is possibly the most iconic song of the 60's. I was lucky enough to see the Monkees live (all 4 of them) several years ago in Manchester and thought they were fantastic.

  • I LOVE THE MONKEES!!!

  • Awesome

  • @Beatlesonlyblog Heart and Soul will be a DVD bonus to a reissue of the guys 1987 album "Pool It" this fall throug Rhino.

  • At the time I thought this sucked, and were Beatle wannabees. Now I see it for the brilliant pop composition it is.

The marketing was aimed at kiddies though.

No self respecting Rolling Stones fan at the time wouldn't be seen dead with a Monkees record.

  • @celticwitan

Wait a minute ...you stated the "Monkeeys" were way better than the Beatles??? Surely, you jest!

  • The Monkees took a lot of sid, but I always liked them.

If you take away the colour (Their TV show), the Monkees

are a continuation of the film "A Hard Days Night".

I read that in an interview with some Monkee, don´t

rekkemember which Ape it was. Jones,Dolenz, Nesmith

    or Tork.

  • Songs written by the top songwriters, backed by the top session musicians The Wrecking Crew, their music is terrific...and they seem like nice guys... goofy most of the time?...yes, but just relax and listen to the music...

  • Born in 1960! The Monkeeys were way better than the Beatles. Who has a great voice today Like Mickey or Mike? Or even Peter or davey? Those guys can sing. They cant make good music today at all anymore!

  • happy B Day to Micky
