Produced, Directed and Edited by Greg Berger.
This short film looks at the history of WAMA and interviews veteran musicians and new artists who call the DC area their home. Subjects range from venues in the DC area to honest opinions about the role that WAMA serves for the community of musicians in DC. The piece also includes vintage footage, Wammie performance highlights, as well as video and song clips from the participating artists. George Nugent, Director of Photography.

  • Zango, There has been much discussion about doing a full length DC music doc.

I have tons of unused footage and many more participants we could talk to. I just wish I had $500.00 for every person who has made that suggestion, then we would have a budget to produce it.

As far as the typo, it's been corrected thanks for the catch! the intern in charge of proofreading will never work in this town again, just kidding. A couple other corrections have been made as well. Now filmfest & Vimeo ready.

  • You have to appreciate the frankness of some of the artists as they describe a music scene that's like no other in a city that's like no other. There's a pronounced lack of people coming home from the docks, mills, slaughterhouses, auto factories and oil fields to cut loose and let it all out... and an abundance of folks who listen to REM's "Don't Go Back to Rockville" and assume they must mean, "...'cause Silver Spring is cheaper, and an easier commute." ; ) I kid. I kid. : D

  • Well done vid, everyone. Love the archival footage! Someone really should do a full length documentary about the music in this town.

Just one final nit to pick about the credits: Marry Cliff? 2 r's? Remember: proofreading is your friend.

  • "...are we...members of WAMA...?"...apparently not. What do they DO? Here's a hint...1/365th of it is, or should be, about "awards". Chime in and do something, and it's a self-answering question.

  • Great documentary. Thanks.

  • Fantastic job, guys! We're honored to be a part of it!
