"Running Up That Hill" entered the UK chart at number 9 and eventually peaked at number 3. The single also reached the top 30 in the United States.

Interesting to note that maybe a lot of comments on here tend to criticize Kate's video and production . Because of this I will guess the comments are from a wide age demography. The song is from the mid 80s or so .. well before modern video production totally inferior than we enjoy today .Kate Bush wrote ,produced ,choreographed all her own work and created a particular cult which is relevant to many young Female artists up to the present day .Placebo ? A good cover ,they have learned much .

really? it's nothing like it other than midnight city sounds vaguely 80s synth. other than that i can't hear any similarity. it sounds more depeche mode if anything.

Sorry, but personally, I think the darkness in Placebo's version and the way they added a much more hallow sound to it suits the lyrics much, much better. Let's be honest, Running Up That Hill isn't exactly a happy song. It's friggin' twisted.
