@zyodei It is not correct to compare them. Yes, but IT IS THE SYSTEM ITSELF, wich promotes those behaviors. It is much more deeper, the State (and if you call me a socialist or a marxist for this, then you just don't know what communism or socialism are) HAS THE SAME PRINCIPLES that a Company. They both want to rule and conquer. Period.

@Thesammyd12 So you are implying that a farmer who spends his days working hard to grow food, which he trades to his neighbors in exchange for money so that they can be healthy, is 'the same, just a different degree' from a weapons merchant who manufactures diabolical instruments which he sells to corrupt governments so that they can murder children? Interesting.
And people ask me why I think Venus Project people are utter kooks...

@zyodei You are right, but the system we are currently in is not resource based so it's bound to fail do to finite resources and infinite interests. Even with a free market, it will just end up in the same cycle as before do to the inheritable cycle of disproportionate wealth. So, there will always be an element of violence due to the latter statement in this system. The solution lies in what can be done to subdue the rise of a large central gov. to quell the violence. Any ideas?

This is a response to zyodei on the comparison he used between a munitions dealer and his small business that by the way he just HAD to point out to make himself feel good inside and to let us all know his so-called accomplishment. You are no different from a munitions dealer. You are the same just a different degree. As you think by helping out these people will make it better for yourself and possibly the little mom and pop businesses you are trying to help when in reality you are not only ta

The promises that the VP makes, the rhetoric it uses about the failings of the current system, the images and symbols it uses...are all very similar to those used by the Bolsheviks. Unfortunately, while many of them might have meant well, it didn't quite work out as planned promised.

@koberask Have you ever looked at the Venus Project CGI? Notice something missing? Like, chaos, spontanaety, organic organization? No, there are big, centrally planned, grand dreams without a blade of grass out of place, without a speck of individuality. Frankly, they are scary. As is the whole Venus project.
Have you ever seen any Soviet architecture?

Here is a good example of dishonestly redefining a word: make a two hour movie. The first half, make a fair and reasoned critique of our corrupt Federal Reserve/ Fractional Lending "monetary system".
Then, in the second half, switch the meaning of the term "monetary system" to mean any economy that uses money as a means of exchange.
How's that for a dishonest redefinition of a word?

I have been working very hard to program a web site that provides a service to small businesses. I am doing so because I hope to benefit them, help their businesses run more smoothly and in so doing make a profit from it. So you are saying that what I am doing is the same as what a munitions manufacturer profiting from the murder of children is doing? Because the whole idea of profit is violent from top to bottom? Sorry, but fuck you.

Haliburton profits ARE different! They get money stolen out of my paycheck. That is different than Starbucks. I voluntarily gave them $2 and they gave me a coffee. Do you not see the difference there? Corporations that profit off of government contracts are profiting off of violence. Maybe Starbucks is lying about the freshness of their beans, and maybe that's a white lie, and maybe they pay their workers less than Dunkin Donuts, but you still have to recognize the difference in their profits.
Nice bumper sticker...but how about a larger, colorful one?

@loveofwisdom55 Those that have all the money and power aren't going to give it up without a fight, and that fight, is not worth the amount of pain it would cause.
I guess it's a slow process but we have to start laying the ground work, which I'm so grateful that PJ has moved the ball forward.
When we start to see that we are really all stewards of this planet and we all are connected to it and to each other, things may begin getting brighter.
