@elvis32z everything needs to be used with moderation . Even salt or food.... So yes . Marijuana can be innocuous if used in little quantities . (of course even bigger ones will not kill you but still there are risks as we are talking about biochemistry balance inside the body ) . Use of everything should be conscious . 1 glass of wine or beer can be beneficial ... more glasses and then it becomes a drug and one that is more harmful than marijuana and even lethal .

the first anti-drug program, in the 20's, was targeting marijuana specifically, claiming it does many things we know are not true today. The word "hemp" is English for a number of varieties of the cannabis plant, it is used for fuel, fiber, paper, seed, food, oil, etc. This is now illegal. The man in charge of this anti-drug team owned the 2nd largest paper company in the US that did not use hemp (which is a more eco-friendly way to make paper).
