he actually hinted in a recent interview..well, perhaps "hinted" isn't an accurate description as he said quite blatantly that he'd like to do less conceptual, more "wearable" stuff... so this is him, perhaps, tracing his concepts into their more accessible ramifications. it's evolution, perhaps, and not the opposite.

i love the leggings !! even though i love that gareth pugh is one of the few designers that has become important while being highly conceptual, i also love this new softer and more comercial side of his.

Pugh went soft, almost like Ghesquiere but naturally Balenciaga is more commerical and yet very refined luxury. I see some influence but Balenciaga is in a league of its own. Pugh, you improved but that's a milestone i guess.

i actually was thinking of following up on my initial comment because i wrote it before viewing the clip in its entirety. once i had, i realized that gareth, himself, echoed the sentiments from the article at 1:57 - 2:01. the article i referenced was one i'd read online - grazia online, perhaps? sorry i don't remember exactly where i read it.
