No-one releases 'old-fashioned' fun Christmas songs anymore. Manics should put this out next year!(2012!) Just for a laugh.' Cos not many people will have heard it, and it is a blast from the past, when Christmas songs weren't all serious and sad.Memories of Slade, Wizzard, Mud, etc., and ok, maybe Hotwheels and Evel Knievel are ghosts of Christmas(God bless'em) but Manics lyrics have never been literally understood or translated! So what's new?

Hahahaha! No idea how I have missed this as am massive Manics fan. They've thrown the kitchen sink into this song. All the naff but popular bits eg saxaphones, Xmas Bells, big drum licks, and tongue in cheek lyrics.Should've released it as a potential Christmas Number One! ; = ))

"No XBox and and no computers, we just used our imaginations / A leather football was perfection, what more could you want?"
"Hot wheels on the dinner table, too much sherry makes Mom unstable. / She's acting like Evel Knievel, oh yes, I am blessed."
James, Nicky and Sean all have a few years on me, granted, but they pretty much nailed a 1970s childhood. Bloody well love Manics, I do.

I love the Manics to death but this is truly awful. Sorry, I can't even appreciate it on an ironic level... File under "Never to be Released"

i remember hearing about this song a couple of years ago and only just bothered to find it. they should definitely release this next year it'd be a gauranteed no:1. especially when you think about whats hapening in the british charts at the moment (i'm not saying RATM is a decent xmas song), people want old skool christmas tunes again instead of karaoke singers and the manics pull it off brilliantly with this. LOVE IT!!!

absolutely dreadful!
But as a Christmas song? Pretty decent.
I love it!
Good ole Manics humour!
They love to piss ppl off who take them too seriously!

And it was last year. Personally I think they should have released it. It's not embarassing, err it's a song celebrating Christmas! ...Maybe Intense Humming Of Evil would have been more appropriate then? ;-)
