Great, my 14 year old cat coughs like that every day. I'm scared to take her in because of the cost, I'm financially screwed right now. I think I'm gonna do it anyways. She also breathes really loud and hard. I can't lose her!! :\

I hope Dakotas parents let some other kitties become lotto winners. Any kittie they bring home are winners. My Kimba was 20 yrs old when he passed. It took me 2-3 years before I could share with kitties again.
Beautiful cat, sorry to as well hear about the death and state it was in. I don't mean to be kind of offish but may I ask what kind of cat breed was she?

She was a good old mix tabby sitting in a box of kittens at the Flea Market. She was the runt of the litter and the kindest cat I have ever met. I picked her up and she just purred and purred as if she had never been so happy. It's kind of sad, but I've met many cats sense and none of them were ever so kind. She wouldn't claw me when it was time for a bath and she was always up for a scratch behind the ears.

Hi, Can I pass you on some advice from my vet? I was at the vet this week and he asked if my cat ever coughed. I said I don't think i ever heard a cat cough (my cat makes a retching sound with furballs) He said that was good because a cough is not healthy. And they shouldn't furball that often. He said once or twice a MONTH was too often. PLEASE see a vet, it's more serious than furballs

Hi, and thank you for your comment. We did take Dakota to the vet, it was a cancerous tumor that had just started pressing on her windpipe. She died later that week. For a happy 20 year old cat, to only suffer the last few days of her life, seems a pretty good thing. We miss her a lot and I leave this video up as a "cautionary tale" so people know to take their cat in if they have a cough that sounds like this.

I put this video online in the so I could show my vet, in case it was a normal cough. Didn't want to go through the ordeal of taking a 20 year old cat to the vet if I could get her treatment this way. Cats hate going places and at 20 years old, I didn't make her do anything she didn't want to do. The cough did not improve and I took her in. It was cancer, and she would have died from a lack of air. Eventually, I had her put down. *** (In Response to) ILuvHannahMiley
