I have a friend who's teenage son has Asperger's and OMG, he's such a great kid!! Seriously, the detail in which he thinks and talks...it just blows me away! At first, he was very reluctant to me hugging him whenever I said hello, but over the years he's grown to trust me and it is he who initiates Hugs now... ;)

Even if you don't want it to, the movie touches something inside of you and you can't quite see things or people around you the same way anymore. It was extremely beautiful and Hugh Dancy was simply amazing in bringing a character with Adam's complexity to life. Oh, and the fact that he's really good looking does not hurt either. (:

I have Aspergers, and I think Dancy did a good job of portraying AS. But the interviewer here is very ill-informed. She should have done her research.
Autistic spectrum disorders are not mental retardation. Your brain just perceives things differently to neuro-typicals. Aspies do have a lot of emotions and feelings, they just struggle to deal with them, and how to express them. I thank Dancy for putting the ignorant interviewer in her place.

I agree. This movie was terriifc but it bombed at the box office. Real shame how the only way to guarantee box office success these days is to have tons of cgi and sex.
This movie should be made wider to the world xx
I have Asperger's and I wish I could meet Hugh Dancy and thank him for his astounding performance. He didn't patronize him or turn him into a puppy dog, he made him a real human being with thoughts and feelings which he has trouble expressing.

Our son is an Aspie and I found her statement about "metal disorder" and retard distasteful. My son is very much like Adam in his actions. He just marches to the beat of a different drummer, that in no way makes him metal. Thank Hugh Dancy for setting her straight.
