Hello, I can get a TFC running fine but when I close putty it stops. I tried the screen -A... but I get "$ Directory '/var/run/screen' must have mode 775.
" I cant chg that folder from 777.
-
@MtnXfreeride "./steam -command update -game tfc -dir . -verify_all" fixed it.. it then downloaded all the game files.
-
Im trying to make a TFC server which I assume is very similar, except on step 7: 7) ./steam -command update -game cstrike -dir . I used tfc instead of cstrike. After everything goes through I log into FTP and there are only a few files there, the hldsupdatetool and a few .so files. What did I do wrong?

Very good!!
I have a question, if I run it in "screen" mode, how I can quit the server then?
SuomiGamers 1 year ago
@SuomiGamers If you resume the screen with (screen -r), you can just CTRL+C out of the server if it's on, then type quit, it'll exit the screen completely. Another option is to type the command "killall screen" - that'll completely 100% kill every screen on the server.

@AnimeHolloW I guess I can do a quick tutorial on that here in the near future, there's tons and tons of them out there already that's very standard to follow, who knows :-)
