This, LArpeggiatas first release on Virgin Classics, explores music by Claudio Monteverdi, blending instruments and voices including those of countertenor Philippe Jaroussky and soprano Núria Rial in a kind of intoxicating baroque jam session. It includes the final duet from Lincoronazione di Poppea, often cited as one of the most sensuous and beautiful love scenes in all opera.

    estoy estupefacto... ¡¡bravo!!

  • Not like a girl... male soprano voices are vastly different to female voices. There is a different colour and quality to the tone :)

  • @wonder6789 Dear, demagogy isn't your forte. Read my previous comments about knowing at what age we live as you obviously have read ALL my comments about PJ as you've drawn such a conclusion that I'm wasting MUCH of my precious time on this overpromoted POP falsettist!I have nothing to prove either as PJ here PROVES that it's pure POP!So, there are no castrati now, but how such REAL countertenors like Lemos, White,Taylor,Scholl,Spanos,Lesne manage to express BAROQUE characteristics in THEIR art?

  • @serenaluce

I have nothing to prove! It's you who pretends to be above everybody and everything.

It's for you to demonstrate how this interpretation is "not baroque".

(Incidently, of course it's not "purely" baroque, since it is a 21rst century interpretation - nothing can change that.)

  • @wonder6789 Oh,honey,I'm so honoured by your special attention to me and all these compliments! Do you think I spend ALL my precious time on YT? For God's sake you still think not that high of me! LOL But I can tell you the secret - I still can waste 2 minutes of my such precious time replying to YOUR comment on YT! Do you think that it's so fatal for my other activities in life? So, what are you waiting for? Please describe the CHARACTERISTICS of BAROQUE, prove that YOU are not"ignorant masses"

  • @serenaluce

If you're such an expert far above all these renouned artists, what are you doing spending your precious time writing comments on YouTube, for God's sake! LOL

Oh, and thank you for the "ignorant masses", which obviously includes me!

  • @wonder6789 No dear, it's YOU who are having such a bad day, and perhaps every day. I have my own ears and brains to tell a fake from real baroque. Only PROMOTION made PJ and as I see this Pluhar as well as other clowns like Spinosi and Haim SERIOUS and knowledgeable musicians. I don't care what musical education they have. Only the MANNER in which they present what they do matters, and it's pure POP to serve the MARKET to entertain ignorant masses for MONEY. So, what do YOU think BAROQUE is?

  • @serenaluce

Philippe Jaroussky and Christina Pluhar are very serious and very knowledgeable musicians who also have a sense of humor and immediacy, like all the baroque giants did.

Sorry you're having such a bad day.

  • @wonder6789 Tell everybody what elements are characterics of BAROQUE, how it's different from other academic style, why it's called baroque, and what elements of ANY baroque you found in this primitive PJ's pop singing? Analyze his coloratura, all 3 registers. To be called a COUNTERTENOR singing BAROQUE as PJ and his promoters claim it, it's not enough just to be ANY male singing in falsetto only producing sweet shallow empty sounds and "sing" with fingers and eyes! It's POP FALSETTIST! Period!

  • @wonder6789 If you don't undertand what I wrote here please don't send me to MY music history. Where did I say that POP and SERIOUS are imcompatible? It often happens if a serious pop singer does it. A good example of it is Sting who sings in a SERIOUS pop manner and shares his soul as a sincere MATURE man in pop style! He doesn't claim what he sings BAROQUE and CLASSIQUE like PJ and this another "inventor" Christina Pluhar. And before accusing me of anything tell everybody what BAROQUE really is

  • @serenaluce

As if "Pop" and "Serious" were incompatible.

You need to go back to your music history and see that this dichotomy is a 20th century invention.

Many elements of Pop are closer in spirit to ancient music than ossified academicism ever will be.

  • Drugi utwór ,cudna zabawa muzyką i głosem. Tak rzadko mamy okazję usłyszeć taką aranżację :) Wielki Szacun !
