Johann Sebastian Bach's Tocatta in D minor. Just the Tocatta, not the fugue. Played on a Les Paul Bariton.

  • Hey steve, at around 2:37 - 2:41 , The sound is very epic, I just wanted to know how you produce this sound (only guitar+octave Pedal?) or you added another track, cause its sound like a heavy trumpet, really love it.

  • @MyCatLovesMetal Ah thanks! That is a synth bass being added in along with my guitar to give some extra balls. Actually it is the Tuba setting on a Moog Taurus 1 pedal (or a sample of one). GREAT tone!

  • Im pretty sure this is just a universal song for guitar virtuosos, ive always loved it and now im finding out that all my favorite artists have covered it, music is good to me.

  • @TheLastAbacus I'd love to hear what other guitarists have covered this one! Been a fan of this since i was a kid before I knew it was Bach and have wanted to do a unique take on it ever since. Please share!!

  • Where can i download this masterpiece?? i would love to have it!

  • @Leonelstudios27 I will be doing the Fugue part as well, so when that is finished and mixed it will be available on iTunes and Amazon.com. As soon as it is I'll be sure to post a bulletin!

  • @Dragonsrule89 Good ear! No, it's not the same guitar but it's the same octave pedal. That pedal is a mid-70s Mutron Octave Divider and has a very signature sound to it. And as you may have noticed...I love it!

  • Try listening to this at the same time as the organ version. EPIC!!

  • Hey Steve, just a quick question: what are the chords around 2:25 till the end? I'm learning it and that last part is the only part I need to figure out. Any help would be nice to play this masterpiece :)

  • Dammit Steve... is there any way you could have control of whether ITunes can sell your stuff on Australian ITunes as well as American!? You have no idea how much I would buy if it was on Aussie ITunes...

    BTW YOU ARE AMAZING!

  • wow, love it, im anxious to here the fugue.. hurry please!!

  • @SteveOuimette I know Paul Gilbert has covered this song as well. Both yours and his are fantastic arrangements. Jason Becker may have done one too, but i cant confirm that. You and those two are three of my all time favorite virtouso guitarists.

  • cant find tabs enywere D:

  • Steve sir, just one question: How can you be so FUCKING AWESOME?!

  • hey Steve, how's it going on the fugue part? i'd love to hear it
