This video is a proof-of-concept test of having 2 HD and one normal vid recorders on my hang glider, along with the GPS that goes with my vario.

I doubt I'll do it much, as 3 is basically overkill, but it was fun to have that much video footage to work with.

The side facing camera is a Panasonic HDC-SD5. The forward facing one is an HDC-SD1. The small camera, that you can see just in frame on the side camera, is a "spy cam" hooked up to a digital recorder designed for private investigators. I was testing that concept, most of all.

As far as the small cam, it can get angles the others can't, but the difference is video quality is painful.

I will likely use that camera as a helmet cam and fly with one other camera, if any, in the future.

  • where is this at?

  • This is at Marshall/Crestline, landing at the Andy Jackson Flight Park in San Bernardino, CA.

  • what kind of camera is that on your nose?

  • It's a small board camera on a batten, recording to a pocket DVR. I'm not super thrilled with its quality, but it is light and can be put just about anywhere.

  • The last time I watched that video was BEFORE I returned to the sport. I had no clue where that was or who you or Jack were. All I knew is that I wanted to fly there and make videos of it. Just look how you've corrupted me. One of the best Crestline videos, ever!

  • Thanks for posting. This video was a treat.

  • This is more like it! I get the feeling I'm up there with you. Thanks for going through all the effort to produce and post this. I know what it's like, even though I do it with recumbent bicycles. I was a hang glider from 1973-1981.
