Garage Fire with Propane Tank Explosion Bleve

Short clip of a garage fire that started slow, but a small explosion got it fairly involved quickly. A shot as I walked towards it, and one from my dashcam, cutting it off but the fireball is visible to the left. Pretty decent example of a boiling liquid expanding vapor explosion.

My friend Robert had this happen to him once, a firecracker caused it. It was more of a boom though & he did get some burns from it. Hell my friend who lived the next street up & over felt the shock wave.

@sodapop554 Wow that's crazy. This one time, at band camp, a guy was squeezing those bubble things that come in packages to protect them from breaking- and he actually popped one of the bubbles. It leveled three of th camp buildings and left a 200' crater.

Saturday my shift responded to detached 4 car garage fire dude had propane tanks and all kinds of dirt bikes 4 wheelers boat generator mower the dude spilt paint thinner by his Kerosene heater we found a propane tank about 50 yards from what used to be his garage it was fully involved and roof had already collapsed when we arrived on scene had another tank go off during our attack deff shit my pants. all my fellow fire fighter brothers take care and be safe its deff a great but dangerous job

that firefighter isn't fazed because he probably expected an explosion (BLEVE). if the pressure in the tank is above what the safety release valve can handle, that boiling liquid is gonna blow that tank apart

So that must be why the firemen were just sauntering towards the building as it's burning to the ground. A sixth sense- they just knew there was an unexploded propane tank in there!
